The full line-up for the 4th Grand Anarcho-Dandyist Ball on Saturday 1st December has been confirmed. Topping the bill in the grand ballroom will be Albert Ball’s Flying Aces, a Great War-era hot jazz ragtime band featuring silky-voiced siren Patricia Hammond on vocals.

Before Albert Ball’s Flying Aces get you on your toes, you will be rooted to the spot by Kwabana Lindsay, a death-defying tightrope walker whose speciality is playing the fiddle on a tightrope, while wearing full evening dress. You will also be perplexed and entertained by Spacedog, a delightful musical combo featuring theremin, the saw and a series of automata providing extra musical ramblings. A very special surprise guest has also confirmed his or her appearance on the main stage. Your eccentric host in the Grand Ballroom will be none other than Mr. Michael “Atters” Attree, The Chap’s very own “Lip Weasel” correspondent and resident bounder.

In the cocktail bar, your host will be Mr. Viv the Spiv, who will demonstrate his collection of contraband chocolate, nylons and cigarettes, while introducing a real live flea circus at various times throughout the evening. Bets will of course be taken on which flea is likeliest to enter the winning enclosure. Also on offer in both our extensive bars will be a selection of bespoke cocktails, all made with adapted recipes from a bygone age and shaken in vintage cocktail shakers.

In the cocktail bar you may also be instructed on the ancient art of flirting by the Flirtinis, who will do their best to match up the chappiest chaps with the most delectable dames. All in all, it looks set to be the Chap’s most eccentric Ball yet, with a dress code to match: eccentric, esoteric, eclectic, electric.
