With the
new season of The Crown just around the corner, Netflix has been cleverly
ramping up excitement for season four with teaser trailers and first-look
images and official posters – and now we have our first full-length trailer to
analyse, with a The Crown season 4 trailer breakdown.
From what
we can see in the trailer, season four will focus heavily on two newcomers to
The Crown cast: Emma Corrin as Princess Diana and Gillian Anderson as Prime
Minister Margaret Thatcher.
We’ll see
Diana’s journey to becoming Prince Charles’s bride, and their so-called “fairy
tale” romance and wedding, and the total disintegration of their marriage
during the eighties. We’ll also explore Thatcher’s relationship with the Queen,
and the effect of her leadership on the country.
But while
fans are excited to Anderson’s performance as well as Emma Corrin’s debut as
Diana Spencer (AKA Princess Diana), the show’s core cast remains the same for
season four.
Olivia
Colman returns (for one last time) as Queen Elizabeth II, alongside Tobias
Menzies (Prince Philip), Josh O’Connor (Prince Charles), Helena Bonham Carter
(Princess Margaret), and Erin Doherty (Princess Anne).
