My wife and I revisited the Petit Trianon.

My wife and I revisited the Petit Trianon. The great motivation was not only to review the unique character of the building created by Gabriel and the personal touch that was given to the interior by Marie Antoinette for her "private" life, far from the suffocation of the Versailles ‘etiquette’  with its decadent rituals and permanent intrigues. Above all, I intended to revisit the unique ensemble of the Hameau, "village" now correctly restored with "patina" and respect for material imperfections and scars of time.

Unfortunately, I couldn't see the restored large room inside. Only possible to visit by appointment. But I leave here some images of this interior in the second section of this post concerning the village of Le Hameau de la Reine.

What a perfect personal microkosmos Marie Antoinette has created. What a unimaginable shock of reality when the ‘canaille’  was suddenly shouting at her gate. When Louis XVI woke up after the attack of the Bastille, he asked: Une revolte?!? No Sire, La Revolution!
